Die NFL hat ihr langersehntes Ziel erreicht und ein Team in Los Angeles untergebracht. Nun wendet man seine Aufmerksamkeit auch den Fans über dem Teich, also uns, zu. Man spekuliert bereits über ein NFL Team in Europa.
In den letzten Jahren hat die Liga ihre Präsenz im Vereinigten Königreich gehörig ausgebaut und bereits auf 3 Spiele in London ausgebaut.
Goodell und die NFL zeigen sich beeindruckt von der Unterstützung und dem Interesse. Weiters gab er bekannt, dass ein Team in London ein Ding der Möglichkeit sei, wenn die Unterstützung weiter wachse.

As you know, we’re playing in two different stadiums this year, so that gives us a little bit more flexibility in how we do that, but I believe the future will see more games in the U.K. As far as a franchise, let’s continue to grow. Let’s continue to see that excitement and enthusiasm, passion, and support continue to develop. If it does, I think that’s a realistic possibility.
Die NFL wird in diesem Jahr erstamals auch im Twickenham Stadion spielen. Hierbei treffen am 23. Oktober die Los Angeles Rams auf die New York Giants. Das erste internationale Spiel findet bereits am 02. Oktober 2016 zwischen den Jacksonville Jaguars und den Indianapolis Colts im üblichen „Heimatstadion“ Wembley statt. Den krönenden Abschluss liefert das Duell zwischen den Cincinnati Bengals und den Washington Redskins am 30. Oktober.
