Der Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson erzählte sowohl seiner Familie als auch seinem Headcoach Jim Caldwell, dass 2015 seine letzte Saison war.

Calvin Johnson told family 2015 would be his final year and delivered same message to Jim Caldwell after season ended, sources told ESPN.

Damit scheint Johnson’s Entscheidung fixiert. Bereits während der Saison soll er Matthew Stafford und Mike Tulloch über seinen Rückzug aus der NFL informiert haben.

Nach einer weiteren schlechten Saison für die Detroit Lions scheint diese Entscheidung dem Ausnahmetalent nicht sehr schwer zu fallen.

Während es noch keine offiziellen Verlautbarungen gibt ist davon auszugehen, dass Johnson aus Rücksicht auf seine Gesundheit in dieser OffSeason seinen Rückzug bekanntgibt.

Die Lions gaben folgendes in einem Statement bekannt:

We obviously have profound respect for Calvin and certainly understand and appreciate his decision to give proper thought and consideration to his football future.
