The NFL game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New Orleans Saints in Paris is set to take place as planned despite unrest and protests. The league said Sunday that preparations for the game and the surrounding events were continuing.

The teams are scheduled to meet next Sunday at the Stade de France. It would be the first NFL regular-season game in Paris. Events for football fans are also planned throughout the week.

“Preparations for the NFL events and the game at the Stade de France next Sunday are proceeding as planned,” the league said.

The league said it was continuing to work closely with local authorities and partners on all operational and security matters, and was also keeping both teams regularly informed. There had been no disruptions or impact at the league’s venues.

The Saints were scheduled to arrive in Paris on Monday, with the Steelers traveling later in the week. Hundreds of demonstrators gathered again at Place de la République on Sunday. Police used tear gas as tensions flared sporadically. Broken paving stones and shards of glass littered the streets. Looting and damage were also reported in other shopping and tourist districts.
