Jack Campbell has shared his first update since the incident.

The Lions linebacker released a statement Wednesday. “I have full mobility in my lower body and continue to make progress with movement in my upper body,” the linebacker said. He also emphasized that he still has work ahead of him but remains very optimistic.

“I’m taking it one day at a time, staying positive and focusing on getting better,” Campbell said. He did not provide further details about a diagnosis or a possible timeline for his return.

Injured on a tackle involving Hockenson

Campbell suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of the Lions’ win over the Vikings in Detroit. The linebacker was hit during a tackle on Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson.

Campbell was then taken off the field on a stretcher. As he received treatment on the field, players from both teams took a knee and were visibly shaken. Campbell was then taken to Henry Ford Hospital.

Campbell said his focus right now is on continuing to make progress.
