Although the Indianapolis Colts won’t be on the field for this year’s NFL game in Munich, the team plans to be a major part of football weekend.

Together with global partner Lucas Oil, the franchise is hosting a three-day FanZone at Weißen Bräuhaus im Tal 7.

Football fans can come together, take part in a range of activities and celebrate their love of the NFL. Alongside giveaways and fan gear, the event will feature opportunities to meet familiar faces from the Colts.

The NFL Munich Game takes place on Sunday, November 15, at 3:30 p.m. The New England Patriots will face the Detroit Lions at Allianz Arena.

But Colts fans have another highlight to look forward to that evening.

The highlight of the Colts FanZone takes place Saturday evening.

From 7:00 to 11:30 p.m., Indianapolis will host a major fan pub party featuring former players, entertainment and a variety of interactive activities.

A special attraction for German-speaking fans will be an appearance by Björn Werner.

The former Colts defensive end was selected in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft and is now one of Germany’s best-known football analysts.

As an international ambassador for his former franchise, Werner is returning to Munich for football weekend.

Fans can meet him in person on Saturday at an autograph session and meet-and-greet.

The popular Colts mascot Blue will also be there. The Colts Cheerleaders are scheduled to make appearances as well.

A fan quiz, giveaways, photo opportunities and drink specials round out the program.

For the Colts, the event is part of their long-term international efforts. Germany, Austria and Switzerland are among the markets where the franchise aims to grow its fan base through the NFL Global Markets Program.

Colts FanZone Munich: Dates and Times

The Colts have announced a full weekend schedule. An additional event will also take place at the NFL Shop in Munich on Thursday.

Thursday, November 12 – Blue the mascot and limited-edition collection

• 4:00 p.m.: Meet-and-greet with Blue at the NFL Shop Munich
• Launch of the limited-edition Colts collection by Lobster & Lemonade

Friday, November 13 – Colts FanZone opening

• 6:00–11:30 p.m.: Official opening at Weißen Bräuhaus im Tal
• Fan meetups, football activities and the start of NFL weekend together

Saturday, November 14 – Colts fan pub party

• 7:00–11:30 p.m.: Big fan party
• Meet-and-greet and autograph session with Björn Werner
• Appearances by Blue and the Colts Cheerleaders
• Fan quiz, photo opportunities and giveaways

Sunday, November 15 – Colts vs. Dolphins live

• 9:00 a.m.: Traditional Bavarian Weißwurst breakfast
• 6:00–11:30 p.m.: Colts watch party
• 7:00 p.m.: Kickoff Miami Dolphins @ Indianapolis Colts

The Weißwurst breakfast requires a paid ticket. Admission to the FanZone and the announced events is free.

There’s also a special twist to Sunday’s football schedule: While the Patriots and Lions face off in Munich, the Colts will play their home game against Miami in Indianapolis as part of the regular NFL season.

Fans can watch that matchup together at the big watch party that evening.
